WORKING MEETINGS WITH TRADE CULTURAL PROJECT GALLERY

The project includes project meetings in partner countries and this allows, in addition to improved learning of English, the ability to understand the different regional identities. The first meeting is
Kornwestheim in Germany took place in 12 to 16 November 2006, the second at Camp 26 to 30 March 2007, the third and last, for this school year, in Ankara in Turkey from April 30 to May 4, 2007.


Kornwestheim MEETING OF PROJECT - GERMANY

From 12 to 16 November 2006 there was the first project meeting in Kornwestheim - Stuttgart, Germany at the coordinating institution: Ernst-Sigle Gymnasium.A this meeting was attended by prof. G. Ciocca, prof. O. Boffa and students Michael and Valeria Bisonni Gianfagna. During this meeting, each partner presented their school and the school system in force in their country. E 'was also agreed the work to be undertaken before the next meeting and it was possible to attend the various lessons to capture the similarities and differences and explore the city of Stuttgart, the Mercedes-Benz Museum, the Castle of Ludwigsburg, in the City of Kornwestheim which the Mayor has welcomed the foreign delegation. The Dean of the School hosted a dinner based on typical Swabian products. The experience was interesting and engaging.

Project meeting in Campobasso - ITALY

From 26 to 30 March 2007 we received the visit of German and Turkish partners participating in the Comenius project. We gave them the opportunity to learn our region through various kinds of archaeological excursions (Altilia), naturalistic (Staffoli), type of craft (Agnone), historical and cultural (historic center of Campobasso) type of food and wine (to taste typical local dishes at restaurants). Grande was the acceptance by our students by teaching staff and not by the families of students involved in the project and by representatives of local institutions: City Councilor Felix Di Donato, President of the Province of Campobasso Nicola D 'Ascanio, the Regional Director, Richard Tamburro, Director General of the Regional School, Dr. Joseph Boccarello.
During the visit, each partner illustrated the work done for the project: dishes, traditions and history of their regione.Per greet guests in a friendly way, we organized a show with the participation of: Group of Lucito Band, Folk Group "The Zig-Zaghini of San Giovanni in Galdo, the Group of Popular Culture "The Bangale" of Baranello. We have also set up a local produce stand, a buffet for groups occurred and dinner, always based on typical dishes of our region, near the room our school canteen.
This was a unique and exciting not only for ourselves but for our families.

MEETING OF THE PROJECT TO ANKARA - TURKEY

From April 30 to May 4, 2007 was held on the third project meeting at the Sokullu Mehmet Pasa Lisesi in Ankara for the presentation of the book of regional recipes and local traditions related to them. All 'meeting was attended by prof. G. Ciocca and students Eleanor Smith and Maria Luisa Palange and German partners. During the meeting it was possible to visit the school, attend lectures, visit the historical center of Ankara, Ulus, the Mausoleum of Ataturk, the tower Atakule, the Museum of Anatolian Medeniyetleri, the town of Beypazari where there was meeting with the Mayor of the city. The last night we seen a show with folk groups from the Black Sea and Eastern Turkey and we were treated to a dinner of local products, the dinner was enlivened by the presence of teachers and students who performed in traditional songs.

We students, we have expanded our knowledge about regional identity, doing research on local traditions and festivals, taking photos and video of major holidays, cooking with regional dishes, playing music, collecting this material and translate it into English, putting in order to make it known and appreciated by partner countries.

The result of this first year of the Comenius is a cookbook with 30 recipes for main dishes regional, ie 10 for each country involved in the project and traditions or stories related to 9 these dishes. Each recipe is accompanied by a picture of the dish cooked by the students, by tradition or history related to it and is complemented by an image that represents it.
